Welcome to a Providence Christmas!
This is our sixth year of running a computer controlled light show and we’ve continued to add unique elements once again for 2011. We’re proud of the traditions that are created here and hope you’ll join us in celebration of Christ’s birth!
The show is synchronized to a variety of unique holiday tunes and can be heard by tuning your car stereo to 107.3 FM.
Happy Holidays!

Providence Christmas From a Viewer’s Perspective
It’s fun to watch the videos that viewer’s have posted to YouTube. I love hearing the reactions of the kids to Santa and hearing a bit of the kid come out in the voices of the parents. Truly, this is a great example of why we do this every year.

Regretfully, we have decided not to run the light show tonight due to the rain. Water and electricity simply don’t mix. In the interest of everyone’s safety we have opted to turn the display off for tonight.
However, if you have non-perishable food you’d like to donate to the HOPE Food Bank, the donation box will be lit and accepting your donations.

As we begin to close up shop and start the 48 hours of festivus, I wanted to say thank you to everyone;
- to our neighbors throughout the community
- to those of you who come out to visit from near and far
- to Vanessa at UNT with the hope that her photo essay on our display helps bring her one step closer to graduation!
- to the Providence Homeowners Association
- to Teri at the HOPE Food Bank for helping inspire a community
- to the Olguin and Tacina families for creating even more reasons to visit the Providence Village/Aubrey area to see Christmas lights
- and most of all to God who has blessed us is so many uncountable ways over this past year
I’m sure there are many others to thank, but suffice it to say that each and every person that touches our lives is appreciated greatly.
May your families experience the many blessings of the season in grand fashion with the hope that they carry with you throughout the coming year and the rest of your days!
Merry Christmas!

We continue to find Providence Christmas on various lists of ‘best lights’ to see during the holidays. I found this one this afternoon and even though it was published last year, find it interesting now that I’ve spent some time visiting the displays in and around Austin (even built a couple of them myself!).

Just a quick shout out to Grayson Sanders of Firehouse Christmas Lighting. Grayson has helped with the Providence Christmas display ever since it’s very first year by installing the roof lights way up there where some of us chickens are afraid to climb!

Read MoreProvidence HOA Developers Award
Providence Christmas was awarded the December 2010 Developers Award in recognition of our support of the community and the HOPE Food Bank in Aubrey. This recognition and cash gift is humbling and appreciated as it will be added to our donation collections for the HOPE Food Bank and support their efforts to help the less fortunate in our area.
As you may know, we accept donations of food and clothing for the HOPE Food Bank in Aubrey. Often people also leave cash and gift cards etc. that we also pass along to the food bank. We have always appreciated the support that our HOA gives this display each year as it absolutely helps bring awareness to the needs of the less fortunate in our area through the work we support at the HOPE Food Bank.
They will be absolutely thrilled to receive this cash gift! They don’t often receive cash gifts and hence are supporting the infrastructure with the help of local donors and a church in Aubrey. So cash donations go a very long way in helping them with things like paint, shelving, and general maintenance of the small building that they operate out of.
Thank you ALL again for the continued support in our efforts to pay it forward!
Merry Christmas!

Other Local Animated/Synchronized Displays
This year marks the first time that Aubrey area Christmas decorating enthusiasts have created more than one animated/synchronized display for your enjoyment! We are now blessed with the hard work of Steve Olguin and Shawn Tacina.
The Olguin family display is in its first year and Steve definitely shot like a rocket out of the gate with his display. It’s about 3 times the size of the first Providence Christmas (Vaderville back then) display!
The Tacina family display is in it’s second year (I think, correct me if this is wrong Shawn). Shawn takes great pride in the elements he creates for the display including some very cool shooting stars and his famous ‘Marty Fan”.
Make a night of it and go see them all! It takes a lot of hard work, time and money to put on an animated Christmas display – we’re very proud to have these folks as part of our community! If you or someone you know is also doing an animated/synchronized display in the local area, please let me know and we’ll add them here too.
